Recipients of City funding announced

Close to $80,000 has been awarded to local clubs and groups following the recent round of the City of Greater Geraldton’s Community Grants Program.

The Geraldton Regional Cricket Board, Geraldton Community Toy Library, Centacare Family Services and Wandina Playgroup Incorporated are just some of the recipients who secured funding.

City of Greater Geraldton Mayor Shane Van Styn praised the recipients.

“Congratulations to the community groups who secured funding in Round 25 of our Community Grants Program,” he said.

“We are proud to support these organisations with their projects and know that the community will thoroughly enjoy them.”

Community groups who secured funding in Round 25 include:

  • Centacare Family Services – Men’s Hub: Community Connection Space
  • Geraldton Carols by Candlelight – Geraldton Christian Churches Carols by Candlelight
  • Geraldton Regional Cricket Board – Cricket Wicket Preparations
  • Geraldton Regional Junior Rugby Union Association – Super Rugby Union Festival Event
  • Hellenic Society of Geraldton – A Commemorative History of the Church of the Archangels in Geraldton
  • Lions Cancer Institute Inc – Special Children’s Big Day Out
  • Wandina Playground Incorporated – Permanent Home for Wandina Playgroup

Recipients of Round 1 of the Community Project Support program have also been awarded:

  • Inner Wheel Club of Geraldton – Geraldton Senior’s Directory 2022
  • Tarcoola Park Tennis Club – New Tennis Nets
  • Centacare Family Services – Centacare Community Christmas Day Lunch
  • Pollinators – Chairs for Purpose

The City’s funding programs provide assistance to not-for-profit community groups, clubs and organisations to implement projects, activities and programs that enhance and promote community wellbeing.
