Preparing Small Lots for Bushfire Season
Small lots, under 4000m2, regardless of whether the land is vacant or has a building or other structures on it, must meet the following requirements by the Annual Fire Hazard Reduction Notice deadline.
All vacant blocks must have combustible material mowed or slashed to a maximum height of 7.5cm. Plowing or rotary hoeing is not permitted.

All vacant land must have wattle bush removed, unless a written application is made to the City and approved prior to the mid September deadline

All buildings and structures must have a minimum of three meters clearance of all combustible materials.
All developed land must have wattle bush maintained to a maximum height of 2.5m and the canopy of the bush may not exceed the property boundaries.

PERMITS
Permit to burn is required until 14 October 2023
Burning is prohibited from 15 October 2023 - 14 February 2024
Permit to burn is required from 15 February 2024
