Community Nursery

The City of Greater Geraldton's Community Nursery is located at 31 Adelaide Street in Waggrakine. The Nursery focuses on propagating and cultivating a wide range of local native plants while the volunteers pride themselves in their strong lines of communications and the respectful treatment of one another.

Community Nursery Officer Jeanette Reynolds is successfully guiding our dedicated team of volunteers to help grow thousands of native plants for the revegetation of Geraldton's natural bushlands, coastal areas and local parks. This includes successfully striking a large number of Chamelaucium uncinatum’s ‘Geraldton Wax’ for the City's Parks and Gardens Master Plan and propagating and cultivating 139 Lone Pine trees, direct descendants form the tree that stood on the battlefield in Gallipoli, which are being planted in the Leonard T Green Memorial Park to commemorate Geraldton residents who lost their lives in WWI.
