Youth Precinct Redevelopment Project
Redevelopment of the long awaited Youth Precinct is set to begin later this month marking a significant milestone in the upgrade of one of Geraldton's most popular recreational spaces.
The $4.4 million project has received major support from Lotterywest who is providing $1,707,300 to complete the works.

Project Background
Since the Youth Precinct opened in 2016, the sun, salt, sand and wind have taken their toll on the equipment and nearly half has been removed with more equipment soon to reach its end of life.
Instead of replacing the equipment in the space, in early 2024 the City began working with the community to develop a plan to upgrade the Youth Precinct - youth are defined as young people aged 12-25 years.
Developed in collaboration with local high school students and informed by multiple rounds of community consultation, the Youth Precinct Masterplan has been shaped by the ideas and feedback of young people, stakeholders and the broader community. Following Council endorsement in July 2025 the final design was refined through further consultation on the planned skatepark, ensuring the upgraded precinct reflects the needs and aspirations of local youth. The redeveloped Precinct will feature a skatepark, trampolines, parkour course, zipline, shaded seating areas, swings and a renewed Rage Cage.
