Geraldton Youth Centre Refurbishment Project

On 31 July 2025, the Geralton Youth Centre was officially opened to the public. Located in the heart of the Wonthella Sporting Precinct, the newly opened facility provides a dedicated place for local young people to enjoy a wide range of activities

The City-run centre will create a stronger sense of belonging and connection to community for young people in Geraldton. It is a dedicated space and safe environment for younger members of our community to engage in a variety of year round programs including diversionary sports and recreation activities, art, leadership opportunities, community events along with training programs committed to supporting young people.

City staff who have been running youth programs for years including the popular School Holiday Program now have a dedicated facility to host their programs and activities.

The project was joint funded with Lotterywest providing support of up to $954,221 to fund the refurbishment of the building to include a multi-use sports court with spectator area and a multi-functional space for activities such as workshops, presentations and meetings.

Supporting and celebrating the City's diverse community through programs, initiatives and events that build social connections is a key part of the City's Strategic Community Plan and this project is a step towards achieving that.
