Senior’s Week 2023 bookings now open

Older people looking for something new to try can rejoice, as bookings for Senior’s Week 2023 celebrations have officially opened at the QEII Seniors and Community Centre. 

A staple on the Geraldton events calendar, Senior’s Week takes place from 3-17 November and involves a variety of activities for people to take part in.

City of Greater Geraldton Mayor Jerry Clune encouraged those who are interested to get in quick.

“The Senior’s Week committee work tirelessly every year to put together a program that appeals to people from all walks of life,” he said.

“The 2023 program is no exception and if you haven’t had the opportunity to see it for yourself, I encourage you to head to the City’s website and take a look.

“Bookings always fill up fast, so be sure to get in quick to ensure you don’t miss out.”

The program offers a fantastic line up of both free and paid events that appeal to those from all walks of life.

Activities include bingo, a quiz afternoon, a community lunch, Grandparents Storytime and plenty of morning and afternoon teas.

Have a Go sessions return for another year, this time featuring pole walking, croquet, outdoor bowls and newcomer Pickleball.

Theatre-goers can enjoy screening of The Unlikely Pilgrimage of Harold Fry thanks to the Friends of Queens Park Theatre, as well as the Multicultural concert and afternoon tea hosted by Midwest Multicultural Association.

The Mayors’ Mystery Bus Tour is also taking place and will be the incumbent Mayor’s first time in the hot seat.

“I may be biased but I’m personally looking forward to this one the most,” Mayor Clune added.

Bookings for each event have now opened and interested participants can book a spot by calling into the QEII Seniors and Community Centre at 88 Durlacher Street or by phoning 9956 6636.
