Terms and conditions
GENERAL
1.Applicants must complete the online application form and confirm agreement with these terms and
conditions.
2. Applications must be submitted two months before the intended exhibition date and is subject to approval by a panel. The decision of the panel is final and no correspondence will be entered into.
3. Applicants of each round will be notified by email by a representative of the CGG.
4. The City reserves the right at any time to disqualify any Applicants who the City reasonably believes has
breached any of the terms and conditions.
ELIGIBILITY
1. This exhibition opportunity is open to Applicants residing within the Midwest region.
2. This exhibition opportunity is open to Applicants of all experience levels.
3. This exhibition opportunity is open to individuals, groups and curators of group exhibitions.
4. There is no age limit on entering. For Applicants under 18 years of age a parent or guardian consent is
required.
SUBMISSION GUIDELINES
1. As part of the entry process, Applicants are required to provide the following:
a. A title and brief description of the proposed exhibition.
b. Mock-ups or sketches of the proposed artworks to be included in the exhibition.
2.Applicants may also upload an artist CV, if applicable.
3. All images entered must be the work of the Applicant and the images must not plagiarise the work of any other person.
4. The proposed artwork shall not be of a nature likely to cause offence and should not portray or depict material in a way which discriminates against or vilifies a person or section of the community on account of race, ethnicity, nationality, gender, age, sexual orientation, religion, disability, mental illness, or political belief.
5. The CGG has no time restrictions on when the artwork was created.
CRITERIA FOR SELECTION
Applications will be assessed based on:
1. The exhibition description.
2. Artistic merit and innovation of the works proposed.
3. All artwork and imagery are to be G rated and to contain no offensive material.
HEALTH AND SAFETY, INSURANCE, AND INDEMNITY
1. The Applicant in submitting this application confirms it either has the relevant written approval from the owner or is itself the owner of the intellectual property/materials relating to the artworks. The Applicant shall indemnify the City against any claims relating to the artworks exhibited.
2. The costs to repair any damage to City assets as a result of the Applicant’s conduct are the Applicant’s responsibility.
3. The Applicant is responsible for transportation installation and taking down of artworks and shall ensure that any equipment used is fit for purpose and meet the required safety standard. The Applicant is responsible for their own and staff members’ compliance with City Work Health & Safety guidelines.
4. The Applicant is liable for their and their staff’s conduct and must maintain relevant property, public liability, and personal accident insurances.
5. The Applicant, in signing this agreement confirms it shall adhere to the City’s Code of Business Ethics as published to its website.
6. The Applicant is responsible for the safeguarding of all artworks on display and the City takes no responsibility for damage or loss of any kind to artworks, including vandalism and theft”
COPYRIGHT
1. The CGG reserves the right to document, or otherwise use any artwork submitted for purposes associated with the exhibition, without charge.
2. The CGG will acknowledge the Applicant as the author of the Artwork and recognise the Moral Rights of the Artist in accordance with the Copyright Act 1968. A credit will always be stated wherever an image is used to acknowledge you as the creator of the artwork.
3. The Applicant agrees that the copyright in all artworks created during the contract remain the property of the Applicant.
4. The Applicant shall give the City a non-exclusive Licence to reproduce the images for related non-commercial purposes including publicity and promotion of the event/project, education and record keeping.
5. The Applicant grants the CGG the right to:
Maintain a digital copy of the artwork for the purposes of:
a. publicity and promotion of the exhibition, through our website and social media channels.
b. creating a non-commercial archive of the exhibition.
