About the position:

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a proactive and dynamic accounting professional to join the City of Greater Geraldton’s Treasury & Finance team. Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer the Senior Management Accountant/Analyst accountabilities and functions will include:

Key accountabilities:

  • Assisting with the organisations budget reviews, annual budget and 10 year long term financial plan
  • Preparation of management reporting deliverables
  • Providing support and assistance to management and staff in analysing financial data
  • Developing and maintaining financial systems to improve performance
  • Developing, maintaining and ensuring on-going compliance with accounting practices and procedures
  • Building and maintaining strong relationships with key stakeholders

Position requirements:

  • Degree in Accounting, Finance or Commerce with membership or ability to gain membership of a recognised professional body of accountants (CA or CPA) or lesser qualification with significant experience.
  • At least 5 years’ experience with financial systems.
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Technical strengths will be complemented by an adaptable and team-spirited approach. A self starter that strives to provide high standards of output and service to internal stakeholders

Completion of a pre-employment medical including alcohol and other substances testing is required of all positions at the City.

Remuneration and benefits:

A salary ranging from $109,391 to $117,035 per annum will be offered dependent on knowledge, skills, experience and qualifications.
