About the position:

This is a casual pool position for the Ranger Services team. The role of Casual Ranger is to promote public education on animal management, local laws, parking, fire prevention and to enforce relevant legislation, ensuring a safe and secure City of Greater Geraldton community. Casual Rangers assist the team in covering roster gaps and supporting the team as required.

Key accountabilities:

  • Ensure high standards of Law and Order are met in accordance with statutory legislation and council policy requirements.
  • Provide prompt, empathetic and efficient customer service when dealing with customers to meet their needs.
  • Assist in the City of Greater Geraldton’s control over parking, animals, fire prevention, camping, off road vehicles and litter.

Position requirements:

Successful applicants will ideally have relevant qualifications and experience for the position, however the City will consider all applications and provide necessary training.

Completion of a pre-employment medical including alcohol and other substances testing is required of all positions at the City.

Remuneration and benefits:

A casual rate of up to $39.64 per hour inclusive of 25% casual loading will be offered dependent on knowledge, skills, experience and qualifications.
