Rocks Laneway will come alive this weekend when some of the Midwest’s most ingenious young people take over the award-winning thoroughfare for A Day in the Laneway.
The maker’s market with a twist will provide young creatives with the chance to display their wares and test their entrepreneurial skills as they sell homemade products.
City of Greater Geraldton Mayor Shane Van Styn is excited to see what is on offer.
“After a call out was issued for expressions of interest earlier in the year, we had a brilliant response with 27 stallholders registering for the event,” he said.
“Geraldton has so many talented young people and it is fantastic that we can offer them a platform to showcase their handiwork to the community.
“A Day in the Laneway is sure to be a fun and engaging day out, so I urge everyone to head down to support our young people.
Event goers can look forward to handcrafted skimboards, jewellery, dog treats, hair braiding, gift cards, candles and artworks there will also be live music, roving entertainment, tasty treats, free creative work shops with local artist Debbie Crothers and a clothes swap hosted by Euphorium.
A Day in the Laneway will take place on Saturday 15 April between 10am - 2pm in Rocks Laneway on Marine Terrace and is part of Youth Week WA celebrations.
