Mullewa will welcome a new state of the art fire truck that will help protect the community from bushfires into the future.

Replacing the previous fire truck that only had a 2,000-litre carrying capacity the new 4x4 truck is urban capable and able to carry 3,000 litres of water.

City of Greater Geraldton Mayor Jerry Clune was impressed with the new fire truck.

“Destined for the Mullewa Central Bush Fire Brigade this vehicle has all the latest technology and will help keep the community safe during the warmer months,” he said.

“We are very happy to add this vehicle to our fleet and enhance our region’s emergency management resources.

“Our local bush fire brigade volunteers work extremely hard protecting lives and property and when the time comes this replacement asset with its increased capacity will make fighting fires easier.”

The new $615,000 fire truck built by WA business Frontline Fire & Rescue Equipment was supplied to the City by the Department of Fire and Emergency Services under the Emergency Services Levy – Local Government Grant Scheme.
