Building on the success of last year's inaugural Jingle Through Geraldton competition, businesses are being encouraged to once again deck out their shopfronts and help create a vibrant atmosphere across the CBD.
The initiative invites CBD businesses to transform their shopfronts into eye-catching Christmas displays, bringing colour, creativity and seasonal cheer to the city centre.
City of Greater Geraldton Mayor Jerry Clune said Jingle Through Geraldton was a fantastic way to bring the community together and add some extra sparkle to the city's streets.
"We’re excited to welcome Jingle Through Geraldton back for another year, giving businesses the opportunity to express their creativity, attract visitors to the city centre and help make Geraldton a go-to destination over the Christmas period," he said.
"We have some fantastic prizes on offer and, once again, the community will play a key role in deciding the winners through a public vote.”
Anik Schuster from The Coastal Cove, winner of last year’s competition, said taking part was a rewarding experience.
“Decorating our store and getting into the festive spirit was a lot of fun, and we also noticed an increase in the number of people coming through our doors,” she said.
“It was such a great way to showcase our business, support a local initiative and be part of something that brought the community together.”
Participating businesses will be competing for a range of prizes, including:
- First Prize: Premium business branding photography package valued at $2,500
• Second Prize: Buy Local Greater Geraldton Gift Card valued at $1,500
• Third Prize: Mid West Chamber of Commerce and Industry membership and marketing package
Community members who cast a vote for their favourite decorated shopfront will go into the draw to win one of three $50 Buy Local Greater Geraldton Gift Cards.
New to Jingle Through Geraldton this year will be a CBD treasure hunt for the chance to win one of three $100 Buy Local Greater Geraldton Gift Cards.
Business registrations are open via the City's website here until Thursday 26 November 2026, with community voting running from Tuesday 1 December 2026 to Monday 4 January 2027.
Further information on how to vote for participating shopfronts and how to take part in the treasure hunt will be announced closer to the event.
This competition aligns with the Thriving theme of the City’s Strategic Community Plan which reflects the organisation’s commitment to contributing to a vibrant CBD.
