Skaters of all ages are set to descend upon Eighth Street when the inaugural Revolve Skate Series takes off at Wonthella Skate Park this month.
With more than just skating on the cards, there will also be tunes, art, food and lots in prize money!
City of Greater Geraldton Mayor Shane Van Styn was pumped to introduce the series.
“Revolve Skate Series is the next evolution of the popular Fools Festival, bringing together young people and families for a full day of free entertainment,” he said.
“There will be plenty of activities in the morning for younger kids, from skate competitions and board art, with food trucks on site and plenty of shade for families to sit under.
“Later in the day the event will switch it up a gear when Aussie punk band The Decline hit the stage for a hectic live set,” Mayor Van Styn continued.
“Entry to the event is free and there is over $2,000 in prizes up for grabs so I highly encourage everyone to get down there and check it out!”
Since the release of their debut album I’m Not Gonna Lie to You in 2010, Australian Skate-Punk band, The Decline, have grown to be a recognisable name in the international punk community.
Revolve Skate Series will see the junior event kick off at 9.15am, with the under 18’s and Men’s categories plus live music from The Decline taking place until 8pm on Saturday 27 March.
