Partial closure of Point Moore beach to vehicles

Published on Thursday, 22 March 2018 at 2:38:30 PM

The City of Greater Geraldton wishes to advise it will be closing a section of beach at Point Moore to vehicles to prevent degeneration to nearby sand dunes and vegetation which act as a natural barrier to storm surge and inundation of the low-lying Point Moore settlement.

As per Council Resolution from 27 February 2018 Item IS168, a 150m of beach centrally located on the north side of Point Moore between Pages Beach and the area known as Explosives will be fenced off with works taking place between 24 March and 29 March 2018. The existing fence in the area will also be renewed as part of these works.

Members of the community are requested to exercise caution and obey all warning signs and directions from authorised City personnel and contractors.

The City apologises for any inconvenience these works may cause.

If you have any queries please contact the City on (08) 9956 6600 or email council@cgg.wa.gov.au.
