City of Greater Geraldton CEO Ross McKim, Panaceum CEO Richard Sykes and Mayor Shane Van Styn seal an Everlasting Partnership agreement to expand the Films on the Foreshore program to 20 movies over 12 months to be shown at the Open Air Arena at the Geraldton Multipurpose Centre.

The popular ‘Films on the Foreshore’ program will be able to expand movie nights beyond the school holiday period with the recent signing of a sponsorship agreement between Panaceum and the City.

The program, which began as a school holiday initiative 18 months ago, shows family rated ‘G’ movies on a large screen in the Open Air Arena at the Geraldton Multipurpose Centre located on the Foreshore.

City of Greater Geraldton Mayor Shane Van Styn said the Everlasting Partnership Agreement with Panaceum would increase vibrancy in the City Centre.

“Our partnership with Panaceum means we will now be able to show 20 movies over the next 12 months in our premier event space on the Foreshore,” he said.

“The City is always looking for opportunities to activate this space with free, family friendly activities and we are thrilled to have found a local organisation with the same goal.”

Panaceum Chief Executive Officer Richard Sykes said the partnership would enable his organisation to give something back to the community.

“Every film on the Foreshore brings together hundreds of people interested in sharing the outdoor cinema experience with their family and friends,” he said.

“I can’t think of a better way to grow our sense of community than to Partner with the City to expand the Films on the Foreshore program.”
