This weekend sees the much anticipated Wind on Water Festival hit town and there’s something to make even the fussiest of festival-goers say WOW!

Visitors to the event will be treated to a world-class performance from The Veronicas and San Cisco, giant puppet installation, community art workshops, kite displays, sunset entertainment and so much more.

City of Greater Geraldton Mayor Shane Van Styn predicts it to be an epic weekend in Geraldton.

“Those heading to the Foreshore this weekend will be in for a treat, with everything from live entertainment, delicious food, ace music and dazzling fireworks,” he said.

“Our teams have worked extremely hard to pull together the Wind on Water Festival and I’m glad to see so many businesses getting behind this event which aims to attract people from around the state.

“Buckle in Geraldton, we’re in for a massive weekend!”

The Wind on Water Festival officially starts at 10.30am on Saturday 21 April and will be opened by Hon Melissa Price MP. The opening will be followed by a kite display, sailing, local performers’ stage, Ultimate Watersports high speed water show and the top-notch String Symphony.

As the sun goes down, head to the water’s edge for live music from some of Geraldton’s best musicians. Eight different musicians will be stationed next to fire drums along the Foreshore, playing tunes for you to enjoy and have a boogie.

Gear up for an even bigger celebration the following day with the Geraldton Toyota Olympic Sprint Triathlon, Tim Darby’s mind-blowing sand sculpture masterclass, tug boat display, Discover Sailing, the continuation of the String Symphony and finally the WoW Fest Concert.

Headlining the event is talented duo The Veronicas who recently played at the Closing Ceremony of the Commonwealth Games. The sisters will be joined by Fremantle’s San Cisco and home-grown talent Songbird.

Top the weekend off with a spectacular fireworks show!

Wind on Water Festival is set to be a massive weekend in Geraldton and is proudly funded by the City of Greater Geraldton and the Federal Government’s Building Better Regions Fund – Community Investments Stream.

Tickets for the WoW Fest Concert are still available and can be purchased at www.wowfest.com.au or at the gate.
