Swimmers will be making a splash at Mullewa’s Doc Docherty Pool this summer thanks to the support of Vestas Development and their Mid West Wind Farm project.
Through a generous partnership with the local renewable company, entry to the Pool will be free for all ages.
City of Greater Geraldton Mayor Jerry Clune said the partnership is fantastic for the whole community.
“The Doc Docherty Pool is a favourite for Mullewa families during the warmer months,” he said
“We’re incredibly grateful to Mid West Wind Farm for helping to keep the facility free to enjoy.
“This arrangement is a wonderful example of how local partnerships can make a real difference.”
Mid West Wind Farm is an exciting renewable energy project by Vestas that will consist of over 140 wind turbines to be installed throughout the region.
Mid West Wind Farm Vestas Development Manager Luke Barber said this is an excellent opportunity to give back and contribute to local growth.
“A key focus of the project is to ensure it brings meaningful benefit to the local communities and we are proud to be able to support the Doc Docherty Pool,” he said.
Doc Docherty Pool has attracted 5,500 visits in the past two seasons, hosts annual Australia Day events as well as offering vacation swimming lessons.
The sponsorship of the Doc Docherty Pool allows for free daily entry to the pool for all ages, but does not include weekly or monthly passes, or vacation swimming lessons.
The Pool is open 6 days a week between Tuesday and Sunday between 11am-12.30pm and 1pm-6pm.
