Grab a picnic rug and settle in under the stars to enjoy Friday nights at the movies as Films in the Park lights up Queens Park and Dome on the Geraldton Foreshore.
From family‑friendly favourites to movies aimed at teens and adults, this program has been carefully curated to appeal to a broad sweep of the community, encouraging people of all ages to attend on different nights.
City of Greater Geraldton Mayor Jerry Clune was thrilled to see the new program come together.
“Films in the Park is more than just watching a movie - it’s an opportunity for people to connect, relax and enjoy time together,” he said.
“By hosting the series at both Queens Park and Dome, we are reducing the potential for cancellation due to Geraldton’s infamous wind and providing more dependable screenings for our community.
“So, check out the schedule, lock in the films that tickle your fancy, invite your friends and enjoy the entertainment.”
Films in the Park is free with complimentary popcorn and lollies available on the night.
Attendees are encouraged to check out the schedule beforehand to ensure the films are age appropriate and to bring a picnic rug or chair.
Films in the Park will commence at 6:30pm on Friday 17 April and run every Friday until Friday 5 June 2026.
The full timetable can be found on the City’s website.
Films in the Park is made possible through generous support from Rio Tinto.
This program falls under the Community pillar of the City’s Strategic Community Plan which reflects the organisation’s commitment to an enhanced lifestyle through spaces, places, programs and services that foster connection and inclusion.
