The City of Greater Geraldton has taken out the ‘Change, Innovation and Improvements’ award at the recent 2018 Auscontact Excellence Awards.

Recognised across Australia as the pre-eminent customer contact program, the program identifies top performers across multiple individual and centre categories, recognising achievement at the highest level.

City of Greater Geraldton Chief Executive Officer Ross McKim said the organisation had been working hard to implement change in Customer Service.

“The creation and implementation of our Customer Service Plan 2017 – 2020 and the establishment of an organisation-wise Customer Service Working Group have aided us in winning this award,” he said.

“Plus the installation of a new Contact Centre and launch of web chat have really seen our processes become a lot more streamlined and efficient.

“A big thank you goes to our very hardworking Customer Service team who have contributed to improving the customer experience and this award.

“We are very grateful for this recognition.”

The ‘Change, Innovation and Improvements’ category recognises excellence in the implementation and results of change initiatives or improvement programs, and innovative approaches to business-as-usual activities.

This category is judged on the impact of the change in a business, not the size, scale or complexity of that change.

The award was announced at the Auscontact State Awards Night in Perth on Friday 27 July at the Parmelia Hilton in Perth.
