If you are struggling with wild rabbits on your property and not sure where to start, you are invited to attend the Wild Rabbit Control Workshop.

Presented by the Department of Primary Industries and Regional Development, the Northern Biosecurity Group and the City of Greater Geraldton - the free workshop will discuss rabbit control methods suited to residential and rural residential areas.

City of Greater Geraldton Mayor Jerry Clune encourages community members who have wild rabbits on their property to take part in the workshop.

“Wild rabbits cause significant environmental damage if left unchecked, so their populations need to be controlled,” he said.

“During the workshop community members will learn about various rabbit control methods, the ideal timing, which tactics to use and how to work with your neighbours for the best outcome in your area.

“Community members who want to get wild rabbits under control on their land are welcome to attend.”

The workshop will be held on Friday 23 February from 5.00pm to 6.00pm at the Waggrakine Community Hall located on Hackett Road. Light refreshments will be served.

RSVPs are essential. Please call 9956 6600 or email environmentalplanning@cgg.wa.gov.au  to secure your spot.
