Australia Day is right around the corner and its set to be another massive celebration at the Geraldton Foreshore complete with something for everyone!

With activities happening right around the clock, Foreshore-goers can enjoy beach yoga, surf lessons on land, bouncy castles, vintage car display, petting zoo, henna, face painting and loads more of other free activities.

Six-piece band and headline act Switch will take over the Australia Day stage with their electrifying tunes, which include hits from the 60s, 70s, 80s and 90s.

City of Greater Geraldton Mayor Shane Van Styn encouraged people to come together on such an important day.

“Australia Day is a time to celebrate our wonderful nation as well as reflect on what it means to live in this great country,” he said.

“We’ve prepared an action-packed day of festivities in both Geraldton and Mullewa that are sure to entertain all members of the family.

“A number of the activities are free as well, which is another added bonus on this wonderful day!”

Mullewa will celebrate all-things Australian at the swimming pool where members of the community can enjoy free entry, a barbecue breakfast, entertainment throughout the morning including giant yard games, slip ‘n’ slide, pool inflatables and live music.

The City will also welcome more than a dozen new Australians at the special Australia Day Citizenship Ceremony and announce the winners of the Australia Day WA Community Citizen of the Year Awards.

“Active citizens make a vital contribution to our community, which is why it is so important to nominate someone you think is doing amazing things,” Mayor Van Styn added.

At 8.30pm the sky will ignite with an epic fireworks show thanks to the generous support of Midwest Nissan.
