Fees and Charges

Access to the facility is free to all City of Greater Geraldton residents all year round.  However, some items do incur a disposal fee. Full schedule of fees and charges here.

What do we accept?

  • Green/organic materials
  • Scrap metal
  • Household Batteries
  • Car Batteries
  • Glass
  • Cardboard
  • White goods
  • E- Waste
  • Tyres
  • Bulky goods (mattresses, sofas)
  • Empty gas bottles up to 9kg
  • Styrofoam packaging
  • Household hazardous waste (HHW) up to 20L
  • Waste Oil up to 20L
  • Mixed recyclables: aluminium, steel cans, paper and plastic
  • Old bricks, concrete and other small amounts of building materials
  • Asbestos must be declared at weighbridge and correctly wrapped and labelled. Requires inspection at the weighbridge.

Who can use the RRS?

Residents and light commercial operators can bring unwanted items to the facility using light vehicles (cars, Utes, small trailers up to 2.4m x 1.8m, or small horse floats). For vehicles up to medium rigid size, weighbridge staff will assess your load and direct you to the appropriate drop-off point, which may include the RRS for smaller loads.
Tipper trailers are allowed if within size limits but cannot be raised on-site.

Do we accept commercial waste?

If you are carrying commercial waste, the weighbridge operators will access your load upon arrival and redirect you to the best tipping/drop-off point. You may be directed to the RRS if you have a small load.

Will there be assistance provided?

Yes, the facility will be manned at all times to provide direction for all users. Please be prepared with enough helping hands to unload your own waste.

Will I be able to bring my children and pets?

For everyone’s safety, please keep pets and children in your vehicle at all times. Heavy vehicles operate on-site, and visitors may be reversing into collection areas.
Children may assist with unloading if supervised, otherwise they should remain safely inside the vehicle.

Is there a tip shop where I can drop off items in good condition?

Yes! The Bowerbird, located on the east side of the weighbridge, accepts a wide range of goods and materials. More information on the Bowerbird here

Hours: 9am-3pm on Wednesday to Sunday.
