Ink in the Lines

Ink in the lines, an Australian War Memorial touring exhibition, will open at GRAG.

Tattoos will take centre stage in the first new Geraldton Regional Art Gallery (GRAG) exhibition for 2023.

An Australian War Memorial touring exhibition, Ink in the Lines is a stunning photographic portrayal of how Australian veterans and their families share their experiences through tattoos.

City of Greater Geraldton Mayor Shane Van Styn looks forward to this latest offering at GRAG.

“Tattoos are an increasingly popular form of expression in Australia and this exhibition is thought to be the first in Australia to explore the use of tattoos in the military,” he said.

Ink in the Lines provides the opportunity for Art Gallery goers to engage with our servicemen and women in a unique and personal manner.

“I encourage everyone to take the time to visit GRAG whilst Ink in the Lines is on show and absorb the stories behind the body art of those who choose to serve our country.”

Ink in the lines will officially open at 6pm Friday 3 February, however is available to view from as early as this Saturday 28 January. Tickets to the opening night event are limited, so patrons are requested to register their attendance via Eventbrite

Ink in the lines is on display at GRAG until Sunday 12 March.
