Community health and wellbeing is being prioritised with the City of Greater Geraldton’s first ever draft public health plan now open for public comment.
Referred to as the Living Well in Greater Geraldton – Wellbeing Plan, the draft document outlines the City’s approach to addressing health issues and concerns specific to local government.
The draft Plan aims to improve the overall health and wellbeing of the community while helping residents thrive.
City of Greater Geraldton Mayor Jerry Clune said community input on the draft Plan is imperative and reflects what locals experience and need.
“Our community’s wellbeing is at the heart of everything the City does,” he said.
“This Plan builds on our strengths while identifying opportunities to support physical, mental, social and environmental wellbeing across Greater Geraldton.
“We’re keen to hear what you think, because your feedback will genuinely help shape a healthier, more connected and more resilient Geraldton.”
The draft Plan and online feedback form are available on the City’s website here.
Paper copies of the Draft Plan and Feedback Form are available at the Civic Centre and Mullewa District Office.
Community members are encouraged to review the document and submit their feedback before the public comment period closes at 9am on Tuesday, 31 March 2026.
The State Government has recently made Public Health Plans a requirement for all local governments, recognising that every level of government has an important role to play in supporting community health and wellbeing.
This Plan aligns with the Liveable theme of the City’s Strategic Community Plan which reflects the organisation’s commitment to supporting community health and wellbeing.
