Community members will be able to pay tribute to those who have fought for our nation this ANZAC Day.

In collaboration with the Geraldton RSL Sub-Branch, the City of Greater Geraldton will host ANZAC Day Services at Birdwood House on Thursday 25 April.

City of Greater Geraldton Mayor Jerry Clune expressed how important the day is and urged everyone to come together to pay their respects.

“ANZAC Day is one of the most important days on the Australian calendar,” he said.

“It is a day when we acknowledge those who have defended our country and our way of life.

“I look forward to attending the services and remembering those who have fought for our country and the values we hold dear.”

The Dawn Service will begin at 6am, and the Main Service will follow at 11am. A wreath-laying ceremony will be preceded by the traditional March, which commences at Dome Café at 10.40am and continues along Forrest Street before finishing at Birdwood House.

An ANZAC Day Service will also be held in Mullewa and will see a free ANZAC Day gunfire breakfast take place at 7.30am, followed by a March that leads into a Service at 11am.

For wreath laying enquiries contact the City via events@cgg.wa.gov.au and for all service enquiries contact the RSL by emailing president@geraldtonrsl.org.au.
