2017 has been a fabulous year at The City's Community Nursery located at 31 Adelaide Street in Waggrakine! With a grand total of 30,000 plants to be grown this year, we're fast approaching our target. The nursery focuses on producing a wide range of local provenance native plants for revegetation of the natural bushland environment and all seedlings are grown by an enthusiastic group of volunteers. With most of our pricking out done, now the fun begins with lots of pruning, grading, watering and fertilising.
With a knowledgeable team of volunteers involved in all aspects of growing native plant seedlings, new volunteers are always welcome to join in the fun with no previous experience necessary.
If you would like to learn more about the Community Nursery or become a volunteer at the nursery, please contact the City's Infrastructure Services team via email the City or call 9956 6600.
