Understanding and protecting the value of our surfing resources. Geraldton Community Focus Group
Join us for a small group discussion about the future of surfing in Western Australia.
This focus group is part of a research project in partnership between Surfing WA and the University of Western Australia exploring the social, economic and community value of surfing, and how surfing resources can be better recognised and managed into the future.
We are inviting local surfers to share their experiences and perspectives on questions such as:
- What makes surfing important to you and your community?
- What changes or pressures have you observed over time?
- What should be protected or managed differently into the future?
The session will be lead by Dr Ana Manero (UWA) and Dr Leon Mach, an internationally recognised researcher in surf sustainability and surf tourism, visiting Western Australia as part of this project.
Date: Saturday 25 July
Time: 5:00 pm – 6:30 pm
Location: Department of Creative Industries, Tourism and Sport, Level 1 268-270 Foreshore Drive, Geraldton
