In accordance with the Local Government Act 1995 section 5.25(1)(ba) and the Local Government (Administration) Regulations 1996, regulation 14D, a council  meeting may be held by electronic means if a public health emergency or a  state of emergency exists in the whole of the district of a local government.

A State of Emergency and a Public Health Emergency were declared in Western Australia on 16 March 2020, and remain in force.

Livestreaming

Live streaming will not be available for eMeetings. Unconfirmed Minutes will be available on the City website within 10 business days as required under the provisions of the Local Government Act 1995 section 5.23(1) and the Local Government (Administration)Regulations 1996 regulation 13 and 14E.

Public Questions 

The City of Greater Geraldton encourages community interest in Local Government. Public Question Time will continue at the eMeetings in a modified format.

As no public or physical attendance at council meetings will be allowed during the State of Emergency public involvement in the eMeeting shall be limited to written questions only.

Questions may be provided to the City no later than 12pm on the day prior to the meeting and will be responded to at the meeting.
