Annual Meeting of Electors - 18 December 2018

Notice is hereby given that the Annual Meeting of Electors for the City of Greater Geraldton will be held on Tuesday 18 December 2018 at 5pm in Chambers at the City’s offices, Cathedral Avenue.

Electors may submit questions in writing to the Chief Executive Officer relating to the meeting, no later than 5.00pm on Thursday 13 December 2018 in order that adequate responses may be prepared and given at the meeting.   

Please submit your questions to council@cgg.wa.gov.au stating they are 'Questions to the Annual Meeting of Electors'.

Special Meeting of Electors - Monday 11 June 2018, 5.30pm at the Queens Park Theatre

Monday, June 11, 2018 - 05:30 PM

Notice is hereby given that a Special Meeting of Electors is to be held at the Queens Park Theatre, 75 Cathedral Avenue, Geraldton, on Monday 11 June 2018 commencing at 5.30pm.

Purpose of the Meeting:

Under Section 5.28 of the Local Government Act 1995 the electors of Geraldton request to discuss the following:

  • Rates to be struck for 2018-19;
  • Discussion of finances related to specific projects;
  • Need for disclosure of transparency of financial detail of major contracts;
  • Availability of information to ratepayers - No restrictions to apply unless suppression is placed specifically by the Mayor; and
  • Council finances - the need for resolutions relating to their analysis and propriety over the past 5 years.

All decisions made at the Special Meeting of Electors will be considered at the next Ordinary Meeting of Council of Tuesday 26 June 2018.

Electors may submit questions in writing to the Chief Executive Officer relating to the meeting, no later than 5.00pm on Tuesday 5 June 2018 and send to Ross McKim, Chief Executive Officer, PO Box 101, Geraldton WA 6531 or by e-mail to council@cgg.wa.gov.au, in order that adequate responses may be prepared and given at the meeting.  Any questions taken at the meeting may be taken on notice and responded to in writing at the next Ordinary Meeting of Council.
