Temporary closure of the Esplanade for Australia Day

The City of Greater Geraldton wishes to advise that the Esplanade (Eastern Breakwater adjacent to the port) will be closed to the public from 10am on Monday 26 January 2026 to allow for the setup and completion of the Australia Day Europcar WA Fireworks Show.

Pending weather conditions, the Australia Day Europcar WA Fireworks Show will commence at approximately 8.30pm and the Esplanade will reopen the following day on Tuesday 27 January at 10am.

Any changes to the Australia Day Europcar WA Fireworks Show schedule will be announced via the City’s Facebook page.

The City appreciates your patience while this closure is in place.
