Temporary closure of Animal Management Facility

The City of Greater Geraldton wishes to advise that the Animal Management Facility will not be accepting surrendered animals from Monday 1 December 2025 until further notice due to limited resourcing.

From Friday 5 December 2025, cat trapping services will also temporarily cease until further notice.

This temporary measure will allow City Rangers and rehoming partners to provide appropriate care as well as secure placements for the significant number of animals already in care.

The City appreciates your patience whilst this temporary closure is in place and reminds the community that pet is for life not just for Christmas.
