Increased traffic at Meru Waste Management Facility

The City of Greater Geraldton wishes to advise due to more residents undertaking clean‑ups before the cyclone Narelle the Meru Waste Management Facility is experiencing higher numbers of vehicles than usual.
When visiting Meru please keep the following in mind:
Pre‑Cyclone Clean-Up Guidance: Useful information on preparing your property is available on the DFES website: https://www.dfes.wa.gov.au/hazard-information/cyclone/prepare#get-prepared-local
- Sort your waste before arriving: Separate items such as green waste, scrap metal, concrete, e‑waste, and general household waste.
- Expect delays: Increased demand may lead to longer queues. Our team is working hard to assist everyone as efficiently as possible—your patience is appreciated.
- Follow staff directions: This helps keep the site safe and traffic flowing smoothly.
- Free tipping for residents includes:
- Inert waste
- General waste
- Scrap metal
- E‑waste
- Green waste
- Tyres and asbestos are not included in free tipping and will incur standard disposal charges.
Commercial vehicle normal fees and charges will apply.
