Pilbara Resource Group make a splash in Mullewa

Summer just got a whole lot more enjoyable for the people of Mullewa following Pilbara Resource Group partnering with the City of Greater Geraldton to fund entry fees to the Doc Docherty Pool over the warmer months.

Pilbara Resource Group are a privately owned Perth based company that have recently taken over the lease for the former Patience Workers Camp in Mullewa.

Now called the Swans Rest Accommodation Village, the facility has been upgraded to house up to 40 visiting truck drivers at a time as they travel between the C4 iron ore mine in Wiluna and the Port of Geraldton.

City of Greater Geraldton Mayor Jerry Clune expressed his gratitude to Pilbara Resource Group for their generosity.

“The Doc Docherty Pool is a cornerstone of life in the summertime for the residents of Mullewa,” he said.

“Pilbara Resource Group’s generous funding will mean that people can able access the facility free of charge for the third year running.

“We extend a massive thank you to the organisation for enabling the Pool to be enjoyed by the whole Mullewa community.”

Pilbara Resource Group Director Scott Dryland said the company is excited to support the town.

“Our sponsorship embodies our core value of community engagement,” he said.

“This collaboration goes beyond financial assistance; it underscores our belief in building lasting relationships and actively participating in the community we call home.

“We are excited about opportunities to make meaningful and sustained impact, aligning our corporate goals with the betterment of the community we proudly support.”.

Pilbara Resource Group’s sponsorship provides free daily entry to the pool however does not include weekly or monthly passes nor vacation swimming lessons.
