Eyes will be drawn to the skies on the Easter long weekend as a WoW Fest crowd favourite returns!
Back by popular demand, giant kites will fill the sky on the Foreshore for the whole community to enjoy.
City of Greater Geraldton Mayor Shane Van Styn said the kites were definitely a sight to see.
“We had so many wonderful comments about the giant kite display last year so we had to bring them back,” he said.
“It creates such a spectacular atmosphere for the crowds and you can see them in the sky from quite a distance.
“To tie in with the display, Northgate Shopping Centre are hosting and sponsoring kite workshops which will include kite flying competitions.”
Northgate Shopping Centre will be holding kite making workshops from Monday 15 to Thursday 18 April from 9am to 12pm and 1pm to 4pm.
The community is invited to come and make their own kite and then attend the kite flying day at WoW Fest on Saturday 20 April.
The kite flying day will be held on the Foreshore in front of Dome from 10:30am to 11:30am with prizes up for grabs.
To book your spot for the Northgate Shopping Centre workshops, contact Dave Meder on 0428 211 640.
Wow Fest will take place on April 20 and 21 with a swag of activities over the two days.
The giant kites will be on display over the two days from 10:30am to 4pm.
The RedFM WoW Fest Concert will conclude the event on Sunday 21 April with headline acts The Temper Trap and Tkay Maidza.
