If you know someone who needs to be recognised for their excellence in the disability sector, now is the time as nominations open for the City of Greater Geraldton Disability Support Awards.
Now in its second year, the awards recognise those working in various areas of the disability sector.
City of Greater Geraldton Mayor Shane Van Styn is encouraging the community to seize the opportunity to praise those who make a difference.
“People in the disability sector works tirelessly to provide crucial services to our community,” he said.
“I strongly encourage community groups, individuals, industry, organisations and agencies to take this opportunity to acknowledge those who go above and beyond.”
There are six award categories which include:
- Mayoral Award – Support Worker of the Year
- APM Award – Excellence in Customer Service in a Disability Agency
- Forrest Personnel Award – Disability Service Provider of the Year
- CRTAFE Award - Care and Support in the Home
- Real Futures Award – Disability Advocate of the Year
- MWCCI Award – Business of the Year
Recipients will be selected from people and agencies who have made a noteworthy contribution during the current year, or given outstanding service within the local community over a number of years through active involvement.
Awards will be presented at the Geraldton Multipurpose Centre as part of International Day of People with Disability on Tuesday 3 December between 9am and 11am. Light refreshments will be provided.

Nominations close Tuesday 5 November.
