  • I am aware that this is an application only and I will not burn until issued a permit from a bush fire control officer. Persons burning without a permit may receive an infringement
  • I am aware that a permit will not be issued during the prohibited burning period
  • I am aware that this application can take up to five (5) business day to process
  • I will notify the Department of Fire and Emergency Services communications centre on (08) 9395 9209 prior to burning
  • I will notify my neighbours and adjoining landowners prior to burning
  • I have read and will adhere to the Smoke Guidelines
  • I will not burn outside the hours of 9:00am and 11:00pm
  • I am aware that the permit will only be valid for fourteen (14) days from issue
  • I will have pressurised running water available at all times that will control, contain, and extinguish the fire (either running hose, knapsack, fire unit, or fire brigade)
  • I will be present and will have an additional two (2) able bodied persons in attendance who will remain until the fire is fully extinguished
  • I will not burn if the wind exceeds 25km/hour
  • I will not burn if the fire danger rating is HIGH or higher as announced that day by the Bureau of Meteorology (BOM) Geraldton, Western Australia | The Bureau of Meteorology

Permit applications may take up to five (5) business days to process. All permits are valid from the date they are issued. If you require a permit sooner, please phone the Customer Experience Team on (08) 9956 6600 or attend the Geraldton Civic Centre or the Mullewa District Office.
