The 5 Star Photograph Competition is a public inclusion experience to help raise awareness of the 5 Star Food Safety Rating System among the Geraldton community and help promote food safety compliance across the City’s food businesses due to increased public awareness.



  1. By entering the competition, you agree to the terms and conditions.
  2. Entries must be submitted by 5pm on 13th February 2020.
  3. The City reserves the right at any time to disqualify any individual who the City reasonably believes has breached any of the terms and conditions.
  4. The winner will be announced via the CGG Facebook page on 14th February 2020.


  1. The competition is open to anyone residing within the Midwest region.
  2. There is no age limit on entering. For participants under 18 years of age, parent or guardian consent is required.
  3. City of Greater Geraldton staff are not eligible to enter the competition.

Photographer Prize

  1. If your photo comment submission is selected as the winner, you will be paid a fee of $300.
  2. The winner will be contacted via Facebook inbox message, along with an announcement as a Facebook status on the CGG Facebook page by the 14th February 2020.

Submission Guidelines

  1. All entries must be made via the original CGG Facebook Competition Status.
  2. Entrants can submit multiple entries.
  3. Images must only be of 2019 Star Food Safety Rating stickers, previous years will not be accepted.
  4. The 2019 text on the sticker must be visible in the photograph.
  5. Entries must have a caption of where the photograph was taken.
  6. The photo should not portray or depict material in a way which discriminates against or vilifies a person or section of the community on account of race, ethnicity, nationality, gender, age, sexual preference, religion, disability, mental illness or political belief.
  7. Entrants are to ensure that any persons included in the photo, have provided permission for the image to be taken.
  8. The photo must not plagiarise the entries of any other person.

Competition Entry Details

  1. All entries must be posted onto the City’s official Facebook competition status by 5pm on 13th February 2020.
  2. Images must include a Geraldton Food businesses’ 2019 3, 4, or 5 star food safety rating sticker.
  3. Entrants must only submit their own original photo.
  4. Entrants may enter more than once, however each entry must be a different, original photo of their own.
  5. A winner will be chosen via a random number generator application.
  6. A winner will be announced by a second Facebook competition status on Facebook on the 14th February 2020.
  7. Winners will win $300 cash.
  8. Late entries will not be accepted

Terms and Conditions of Entry

  1. Entrants are to agree to all terms and conditions on this form.
  2. In submitting any photograph(s), it is the entrant’s responsibility to ensure that the photograph(s) does not infringe any Intellectual Property Rights or any party’s privacy.
  3. The City of Greater Geraldton reserves the right to remove and omit any content deemed to be deliberately offensive or defamatory.
  4. City of Greater Geraldton Employees and their Immediate Family* shall not be eligible to submit entries for with this competition.
  5. As this competition is intended to be inclusive of all Midwest community members, Entrants must ensure there are respectful of all other entrants and parties associated with the exhibition. Any entrant found to have willingly caused offense in connection with the competition, or who has breached any other terms and conditions may be disqualified from the competition.
  6. Images must not contain watermarks or any identifying branding of the entrant.


*Immediate Family means any of the following: spouse, de-facto spouse, child or step-child (whether natural or by adoption), parent, step-parent, grandparent, brother, sister, step-brother or step-sister.
