Local businesses have gone above and beyond to achieve top marks in the City of Greater Geraldton’s 2022 Five Star Food Safety Awards.
Allendale Primary School’s canteen, Broadwater Resort Hotel and Lazy Susan’s Kitchen took out the winner titles by passing the comprehensive inspection process with flying colours.
City of Greater Geraldton Mayor Shane Van Styn praised all the businesses who achieved five stars for 2022.
“Bravo to all the businesses who achieved excellence and congratulations to Allendale Primary School’s canteen, Broadwater Resort Hotel and Lazy Susan’s Kitchen for making the podium in spite of the stiff competition,” he said.
“The Star Rating System ranks businesses from three to five stars based on their ability to comply with our rigorous food hygiene standards.
“In order to gain one of the top three places, businesses must consistently surpass these protocols.”
As well as being recognised for their exemplary commitment to food safety, Allendale Primary School’s canteen, Broadwater Resort Hotel and Lazy Susan’s Kitchen all received a $250 Buy Local Greater Geraldton Gift Card.
Customers can identify a food businesses’ score by looking for the sticker advertising their official star rating for 2022.
