Expressions of Interest (EOI) have officially opened for a lease management of the Meru Reuse Shop and the City of Greater Geraldton is calling non-for-profits, community groups and small businesses to consider the opportunity.

The Reuse Shop, or the Tip Shop as locals like to call it, has been operated by a non-for-profit for the last three years and City of Greater Geraldton Mayor Shane Van Styn hopes it continues that way.

“The Tip Shop is home to many gems and is an important part of our community that fosters recycling, reuse and sustainability,” he said.

“We hope that local community groups, small businesses and non-for-profits jump at this opportunity to operate the facility.”

The Reuse Shop which is located at 61 Landfill Lane, just before the Meru Waste Disposal Facility, improves material recovery and provides a low-waste alternative to waste disposal at landfill.

Under the current management, the Reuse Shop is open three days a week between 7.30am – 3.30pm from Saturday – Monday. A desired arrangement would be five days a week from Thursday to Monday.

Items displayed in the shop are available to purchase and all income from the sales remain with the organisation managing the facility.

Expressions of Interest close at 12pm on Thursday 11 February and more information is available by clicking here.
