February has been a big month for arts and culture in Geraldton, and it just became even bigger with the launch of a new exhibition that explores the beauty in everyday moments.

An Ordinary Day is the latest instalment from the Geraldton Regional Art Gallery (GRAG) and features works from 12 locals including Mathias Moerman, Kristi Teakle and Freya Wise.

City of Greater Geraldton Mayor Shane Van Styn said the photography exhibition captured a variety of moments.

“It’s great to see such diverse and humble actions focused in this exhibition as they can be underappreciated sometimes,” he said.

An Ordinary Day is all about the moments in life that make life great such as a cup of tea with Nan or an evening stroll at the beach with your loved ones.

“Be sure to check it out this weekend as well as GRAG’s inside exhibition, the Midwest Art Prize, and new sculpture while you are at it.”

Some of the other photographers featured include Craig Wise, Peter Waterhouse, Nita Human, Paul Essenson, Richard Porter, Siobhan Macdonnell, Justine Adams, Michelle McKoy and Gemma Simkin.

The exhibition can be viewed around the clock, in the outdoor space between GRAG and the Murchison Tavern until Wednesday 24 April.

Members of the public can also vote for their favourite image and go in the running to win a $50 Visa gift card.
