City launches new Visit Geraldton website

Planning a trip to Geraldton has never been easier thanks to the launch of a brand new Visit Geraldton website.

As part of the City of Greater Geraldton’s ongoing commitment to attracting visitation through promoting Geraldton and the region, the website underwent a recent overhaul in order to showcase what’s on offer and provide visitors with a more user-friendly service.

Including a fresh new design and clean navigation layout, the website brings back all favourite components including an accommodation and tour booking feature, what’s on calendar as well as information on tourist sites and experiences.

The newly launched website now also includes a heavy social media component, the addition of blogs and a new and improved member directory giving businesses control over their listings.

As part of a wider strategy, the new website goes hand-in-hand with the City’s commitment to a long term tourism communications strategy that has seen increased social media presence in the tourism space.

City of Greater Geraldton Mayor Shane Van Styn said it was imperative the website continued to appeal to both current and potential visitors.

“With a goal of growing our visitor economy at a rate of 10% per year, a strong digital online presence is imperative and that includes having a top-notch easy to use website,” he said.

“The online landscape is continually changing and we want to stay on top of the trends to ensure we can keep enticing people to visit our great City.

“We have heavily increased our promotion of Geraldton through a strong social media presence and we look forward to linking our campaigns back through to our website.

“We would love for you to help us promote Geraldton by sharing the new website with out-of-town, interstate and overseas friends and family,” he added. 

The new website is a component of the City’s wider tourism destination management strategy, as part of the implementation of the Growing Greater Geraldton Growth Plan.

The website aligns with the ‘Take a Fresh Look’ branding which is rolled out across a number of marketing and promotional material including the Geraldton Visitor Centre’s Visitor Guide.

The website refresh was completed by local business and WALGA preferred company Market Creations.
