One of the most quirkiest and colourful workshops is coming to the Geraldton Regional Art Gallery and you’ll want to tell all your friends about it.
Bead Friends Forever is a wall-installation consisting of cute objects made from iron-together beads.
Best mates and founders Alina Tang and Johanna Acs place the designs in amusing compositions, creating a colourful constellation that is both engaging and delightful to view.
City of Greater Geraldton Mayor Shane Van Styn said it was a great opportunity to get creative and have some fun.
“Bead Friends Forever is a very unique workshop that will make you unleash your inner child and have some serious fun,” he said.
“You can create everything from smiley faces, cupcakes, houses, clouds or rainbows – anything that springs to mind!
“The end result will be an installation totally unique to Geraldton and the Midwest.”
Bead Friends Forever is the result of Tang and Acs’ friendship, which spans 22 years. The creative pair have exhibited at Perth Fringe World as well as Scribblers Festival in Claremont and Vancouver Arts Centre in Albany.
This installation is bright and eye-catching featuring small magical objects that celebrate colour, creativity, and most importantly, friendship.
Members of the community will be able to participate in the project through a number of free workshops:
- Friday 6 July at 10am and 1pm
- Saturday 7 July at 10am and 1pm
Bead Friends Forever is suitable for adults and children aged six and over. Bookings are essential and to secure your place email ellenn@cgg.wa.gov.au
