Next month will see the return of the highly anticipated Iwarra Wilungga Festival of Aboriginal Art and Culture.
This year Iwarra Wilungga celebrates the season of “Urnura”, or Autumn, and will include a number of engaging events in the lead up to the Festival, once again being held at Queens Park Theatre (QPT).
City of Greater Geraldton Mayor Jerry Clune is excited to see the return of the popular Festival.
“Iwarra Wilungga was a huge success in its inaugural year and this time around the lineup is looking even better,” he said.
“I am particularly looking forward to the events leading up to the festival and will be checking out the Best Moments on Country Photo Exhibition at the Museum of Geraldton, poetry readings with Nola Gregory at Geraldton Regional Library, the Aboriginal Art Exhibition in the QPT Foyer and the Traditional Craft Fair in Rocks Laneway.
“With such a fantastic lineup of artists including Miiesha as well as Born2sing, Fred Ryan Band, Bradley Hall Band, Lucia Richardson and Binmaga Dance Group hitting the stage at Iwarra Wilungga, this is an event not to be missed.
“I would also like to extend a heartfelt thank you to Tourism WA for their generous support of Iwarra Wilungga through the Regional Events Scheme,” added Mayor Clune.
Iwarra Wilungga will take place on Saturday 6 April between 3.30pm – 8.30pm.
