Community Nursery

The City of Greater Geraldton's Community Nursery is located at 31 Adelaide Street in Waggrakine. The Nursery focuses on propagating and cultivating a wide range of local native plants while the volunteers pride themselves in their strong lines of communications and the respectful treatment of one another.

Community Nursery Officer Jeanette Reynolds is successfully guiding the dedicated team of volunteers to help grow tens of thousands of native plants for the revegetation works of Geraldton's Native Reserves, Coastal areas, Local parks and CBD areas.

The annual operation includes germinating seeds, striking cuttings, pricking on seedlings into sapling pots, and potting on saplings into larger pots.  Included is cultivating 3-year native tress in 35 litres bags for parks, verges and CBD areas.   Once the propagation season is complete the volunteers are engaged in planting projects within the community.

Opening Hours

Opening hours vary depending on the season and the operations required for the seasons.

The nursery is not a commercial nursery which sells to the public all year round and operates to accommodate annual orders.  Once a year the nursery is open to the public for a one-off sale of the surplus stock.

If you have any questions on the Nursery orders operations, please contact the Community Nursery Officer on 0409 088 975.
