Passport 2 Employment

P2E Class of 2022 go surfing

Passport 2 Employment (P2E) was developed based on a pilot program in 2019 led by the National Disability Coordinators Officer. The City of Greater Geraldton delivers this program every year.

The program involves selected students from years 11 and 12 from local schools, such as Holland Street School, Nagle Catholic College, Geraldton Senior High School, Champion Bay Senior High School and Geraldton Grammar School who have been identified as benefiting from extra education and support as they prepare to graduate from high school.

The nine-week program is designed to prepare them for entering the workforce. This involves campus tours and workplace visits, as well as sessions on resume writing and job applications, interview preparation, presentation skills, and health and fitness.

The program offers students exposure to new and exciting fields while also teaching practical skills such as resume writing and interview preparation. Furthermore, it is a brilliant way to equip students for their journey into employment.

The Passport 2 Employment program is a perfect example of how collaborative work within the regional education, industry, and community providers work together to increase opportunities for Geraldton's young people.

The program is a collaborative effort and is part of the City’s Access and Inclusion Plan.
