Mullewa Waste Transfer Station

On 4 November 2016, the Mullewa Waste Transfer Station was officially opened to the public.

The transformation of the Mullewa Tip into a transfer station was undertaken to comply with industry standards set by the Department of Environmental Regulation.

The site features designated areas for scrap metal, tyres and green waste and a ramp where members of the community can drive up and park in front of the general waste bins for easy disposal.

Bins and waste collected in the designated areas are then transferred to the Meru Waste Facility where general waste is properly disposed of and scrap metal, tyres and green waste are recycled.

The transfer Station cost $476,000 to build and was part of the 2016/17 Capital Works Plan.
