Abraham Street Roundabout

Construction of the Abraham Street roundabout was part of the final stage of the Karloo Wandina project which began with the construction of Verita Road and the Abraham Street Bridge over the Southern Transport Corridor.

The roundabout was constructed to accommodate the increase in traffic flow on Abraham Street due to the opening of the Abraham Street bridge. The roundabout also greatly enhances the safety of road users and pedestrians alike.

The project also included removing the northern road link to Plymouth Road onto Abraham Street as this access point was only a few metres from the T-intersection and did not meet current Australian Standards.  The northern road link was removed and changed to a Cul-de-Sac. More here

The project cost approximately $820,000 to complete and is part of the $78 million the City is spending on Capital Works projects in 2016/17 in building and renewing infrastructure which will directly impact upon jobs and growth.
