FOGO general rubbish collection remains weekly until review

Households in Greater Geraldton who are part of the current Food Organic and Garden Organic (FOGO) waste trial will continue to have their general rubbish picked up weekly.

The original program plan stated that general rubbish collection was to be moved to a fortnightly pick up from the first week of May.

However, due to the current COVID-19 health crisis and more people being at home, the City of Greater Geraldton will be postponing the start date of the general rubbish fortnightly collection and it will remain at a weekly pick up until further notice.

This will be reviewed at the end of May to determine if the fortnightly service of general waste for those as part of the FOGO trial will be implemented in the future.

Those in the trial are also reminded that the FOGO bin collection will remain weekly for the duration of the program.

The 12-month FOGO waste kerbside collection trial involves 500 randomly selected residential properties across the City and commenced in March this year.
