Young people have added the latest touch of vibrancy to Mullewa as part of the Youth Week WA Street Banner Renewal Project, which is now on display in Jose Street.

Local artist Deb Reader facilitated a series of creative workshops at Mullewa Youth Centre, resulting in seven artworks being shortlisted for the display.

The colourful showcase will feature in Mullewa’s main street until the end of June.

City of Greater Geraldton Mayor Shane Van Styn offered his praise to those involved.

“Mullewa is home to some fantastic public art, and it is brilliant to see young people contributing to the artworks in the community,” he said.

“Well done to all involved and a big congratulations to everyone who had their work selected to be turned into a street banner.

“I urge everyone to check out the banners produced by these creative youngsters.”

The Youth Week WA Street Banner Renewal Project is supported by the Department of Communities through the Youth Week WA Grants Program.

Held annually, Youth Week WA runs from Friday 14 April to Friday 21 April and celebrates the positive contributions of young people throughout the state.
