Geraldton Regional Art Gallery (GRAG) have welcomed a unique picture book to their shop which features tales of our windy city from young residents.
‘The Places We Go’ is a collaboration between author-illustrator Briony Stewart and youngsters who participated in her workshops held at GRAG last July.
City of Greater Geraldton Mayor Shane Van Styn said the book is sure to be a family favourite.
“Point Moore Lighthouse, Wondabake, Geraldton Aquarena and the Foreshore all feature in this beautiful picture book that’s now available for you to purchase at GRAG,” he said.
“Briony’s workshops were extremely popular over the July School Holidays and booked out in a matter of minutes.
“It is important to foster and encourage creativity at all ages, and the youngsters who contributed to this colourful story book should be very proud of their work. We certainly are.”
GRAG facilitated the workshops during the mid-year break, which covered writing, drawing, character creation and storytelling techniques.
Participants were encouraged to bring their tales of Geraldton to the workshops where Ms Stewart helped the youngsters develop them further.
‘The Places We Go’ can be purchased at GRAG for $20.
